God created humanity in his image to live in communion with him and glorify him (Genesis 1:27), but through disobedience sin entered the world, separating all people from God (Romans 3:23) and bringing death as its consequence (Romans 6:23); yet in his love, God had promised a Savior from the very beginning (Genesis 3:15) and sent him at the appointed time in the person of Jesus Christ, his Son, fully God and fully man, born of a virgin (Luke 1:35), who lived a perfect and sinless life (Hebrews 4:15), taught about the Kingdom of God, and then died willingly on the cross, bearing the punishment for our sins in our place (2 Corinthians 5:21), before rising from the dead on the third day, triumphing over sin and death (1 Corinthians 15:3-4); whoever repents of their sin and places their faith in Jesus as Savior and Lord receives forgiveness, reconciliation with God, and the free gift of eternal life, not by works but by grace (Ephesians 2:8-9), receives the Holy Spirit who transforms them from within (John 3:5-6), is called to grow in a new life marked by obedience and spiritual fruit (Galatians 5:22-23), to join the community of believers through baptism (Matthew 28:19-20), and to proclaim this good news to the whole world, awaiting the return of Jesus, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal life renewed in the presence of God (Revelation 21:1-4).
