Head-canon: Once Peter got his powers his metabolism skyrocketed, something that took a strain on May’s single income. He tried to eat as little as possible at home. Ned noticed it 1000% bringing extra lunches and snacks so Peter could eat his fill. He just had this unexplained urge to feed spider-man 🤷🏼♀️🫵🏻✨
