@spotnewsmedia: As Assam continues to battle devastating floods and the death toll remains above 80, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has so far reviewed the situation through meetings, calls and briefings. On August 1, however, he travelled to Andhra Pradesh to inaugurate the ₹5,600-crore Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram and launch development projects worth around ₹18,000 crore. The event also featured a grand welcomed by around 13,000 tribal girl students performing the traditional Dhimsa dance. While the Centre says relief efforts in Assam are being closely monitored, critics are asking whether flood-hit families also deserved an on-ground visit from the country's top leadership.
