@whatsthewordtoday1: A video recorded in Houston, Texas, on July 2 shows a young girl crying and pleading for help as federal immigration officers detain her mother during a traffic stop. According to the account shared with the video, officers driving a white Ford pickup truck and a gray Dodge Charger stopped the family’s vehicle near the intersection of Fondren Road and Harwin Drive at around 2:30 p.m., in front of an apartment complex. The footage captures the emotional moment as the child watches her mother being taken into custody. The incident comes amid an increase in immigration enforcement operations. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has said it conducted a five-day enforcement surge that resulted in approximately 10,000 arrests, averaging about 2,000 arrests per day. The agency said the operations targeted individuals encountered during court check-ins, traffic stops, workplace enforcement actions, and other locations as part of its immigration enforcement efforts. #Houston #Texas #ICE #Immigration #News
