How do you tell the difference between asbestos and non asbestos fibre cement? Asbestos freaks me out and I get scared to touch anything in my older home because I'm worried it'll eventually kill me 🥴

My bathroom has a hole in the ceiling and u can see the horse hair. Makes my teeth hurt coz yuck 😭

Cover your tools with a drop sheet mate. If they can see them they’ll be in and out in a few seconds. I’ve had mine knocked a few times. Stealing someone’s tools is as low as a snakes belly

My parents renovated our ‘new’ house when I was a teen, the front half was an old farm house and they extended onto it. But it was so full of asbestos and rotted wood. When they when to fix the chimney they found it half collapsed On the inside and a HUGE rat family inside that and the roof.

Our house just turned 50 years old and let me tell you.. it’s interesting renovating 😅 but we’ve found some cool things along the way in the walls and under the house. It’s a slow process as my husband is doing it all but man she’s going to be beautiful once she’s done ☺️

We are doing a big Reno at the moment and removed all that horse hair board crap and insulated and gibbed it, the worst bit was removing insulfluf from the roof and putting decent insulation in, next time we’re doing a new build!

During Covid my son was in middle school, their district made kids finish they year doing a passion project, long story to say he demo’ed two adjoining rooms in our house. He learned all about horse hair plaster and how heavy it is.
