That’s a very optimistic outlook. I think that unfortunately more often than not, the real reason is that some men rather blame the closest person next to them for the things that go wrong in their life than taking accountability and looking inwards. That’s why so many come crawling back afterwards when it’s already too late.

I ended up ending things with him, but like, I just think I’m glad because I don’t want to marry someone like that, because imagine when you’re married, yeah, and you can’t just leave; you have to get a hold of a divorce, so if you can’t handle it when you’re in a relationship, how do you expect to do it when you’re married?

6+ years, got broken up with disrespectfully 4 months ago. i needed respectful closure. so we had a final talk last night. as if it needed to happen: my mom saw him walk hand in hand with his new girlfriend that afternoon. my mom and ex made eye contact. during the talk he became super emotional, said he still loved me and wanted to give it another chance. which is absolutely crazy because in 4 months he had already replaced me with someone 12 years younger than him. he is lying to that girls face because he still has feelings for me. he also admitted he neglected all his feelings after the breakup, because that's what he does. he can't cope in a healthy way. it makes me sick to my stomach. the last thing i said to him was "hopefully your new girlfriend can support you in grieving your feelings for me" even though i still love him very much, after all that happened i'll never take him back. and that's the pain i've been living with since the breakup. hopefully he finally gets to feel the pain now too
