Rory was a product of her environment and the real biggest failing was the way Lorelai treated/raised her. Yes obviously your personaly responsible for your own actions but I always thought given everything her reactions made sense?

A lot of college students hear some kind of criticism from professors or while doing internships. Like it can be rough especially if you’re super dedicated to a specific industry or career path but you’re kind of just supposed to try to learn what you can about it not have a tantrum by committing a felony

We knew this from way back when she missed the first big test at Chilton. She had tantrums every time she didn't get her way.
