I have a biracial child with super curly hair. By the time he was 3 we had tried every product you can find. Same place. At Walmart. This sweet older black woman walked up to me and said, Now baby, you don’t need anything on that shelf. All you need to do is stop shampooing that baby’s hair every day and don’t rinse out the conditioner. Don’t brush, wide tooth comb only. And she was right. When a black woman says “Now baby” I’m always locking in bc I promise she knows what she’s talking about.

I was fostering a black baby boy. His hair was a mess. I stood in the hair aisle at Walmart in tears. A beautiful black woman came over and started picking up items. I assumed she was shopping for herself. Nope. She looked me in the eye, put the items in my basket and said “now let’s go pick out the right comb.” I could have kissed her!!!!

AHEM: mix a little bit of both on the back of your hand first. Clear? Proceed. White and clumpy or looks like glue? - these products have a diff base (water vs silicone) and it won’t turn out that good. Do this little test to find your curl combos!!! 💗💗➰
