i was asked way too much but honestly it wasnt because of my cosplay its because of my age. Most people were open about my age and why they wanted my photo to share with their parents and to tell me cosplay is for all ages.

When I went to the con with jojo makeup style (like honestly it looked good I assume it was recognizable) NO ONE RECOGNIZED ME I was stopped only my freaks for other reason 🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀 I was so sad I spent 5h doing makeup and hair [cry]

hear me out : they're just too scared because your cosplay's too awesome (coming from personal experiences). people like us see others with amazing cosplays and our first thought is "omg they must get asked to take pictures all day , i dont want to disrupt them!!" and by the time we build up the confidence, you're gone 🥲🥲

Yeah, I think it's reasonable, especially if you've spent a lot of time, money and work on a cosplay. I get that popular, recognisable characters get the attention but damn. 😭

Especially when people actually spent time crafting or sewing their cosplays. It’s definitely not the whole point of going to cons, but it really feels nice when people actually appreciate your work and take pics with you.

ive noticed that at larger cons over here u can put no effort into a cosplay and people will ask for pictures just because its revealing or because they think youre pretty. this is completely from personal experience because one time i went to comic con with an off colour blue wig, normal clothes and stitches on my face and called it a mahito cos and that got more attention than the yoru cosplay i put so much love and time into

I believe the cons have twisted a bit in the last couple of years. People aren’t taking much pictures. I’m also being a bit upset. With my first cosplays that were shitty to be honest, I’ve had lines of people wanting to take a pic, now after spending weeks of sewing and crafting something good people are just watching from a distance and there are very few who take a picture. And I see other fellow cosplayers in the same situation. Amazing cosplays are being neglected on the cons. Few years back it was almost impossible to go to a good cosplayer and take a pic, now all of them are constantly available. It is sad indeed but it’s just how people are nowadays on the cons 🤷🏻♀️
