@mrs.bauers: Good morning, my sweet friends. 🤍 I started my morning with a slow walk around the farm, coffee in hand, taking it all in before the day gets busy. The skies are a little smoky this morning from the wildfires here in Oregon, so I’m keeping everyone in my prayers. We could sure use a little rain. Today’s going to be a long one. The combine is out, and we’ll be spending the day bringing in the wheat. It’s hard work, but it’s the kind of work that reminds you to be thankful for every season. Before I climbed in, I wandered through the garden, and my goodness… the sunflowers are finally starting to bloom. They make me smile every single year. No matter what’s happening around us, they just keep reaching for the light. I think there’s a lesson in that. I even snuck in a quick dip in the pool to wake these old bones up before settling into the combine for the rest of the day. Lord knows I’ll be covered in dust before lunchtime. 🤣 Wherever this Saturday finds you, I hope you find a little peace, a reason to smile, and someone to love on today. Be kind, say your prayers, and don’t forget to look for the little blessings. They’re still there, even on smoky mornings.
