I don't like him bc he kl kurds 🇮🇶💝🚥 mojor General Bariq Abdullah Al-Haj Hanta Al-Zubaidi was one of the most prominent, daring, and highly decorated military commanders in the modern history of the Iraqi Army. Born on March 3, 1950, in the Wasit Governorate, he belonged to the prestigious Arab Zubaid tribe and dedicated his entire life to the military profession. He graduated from the First Iraqi Military Academy (Class 49) in 1970 and subsequently earned his Master’s degree in Military Sciences from the Staff College, alongside rigorous elite training in the Special Forces school. Visually, he embodied the quintessential Iraqi military officer of his era—distinguished by a robust physical build, sharp and stern features, and a thick, traditional mustache. He was widely known among his peers and soldiers as an aggressive, offensive-minded tactician who absolutely refused to command from safe rear-line headquarters, choosing instead to lead directly from the absolute frontlines and frontline trenches alongside his men.Throughout his extensive career, Bariq gained vast international combat experience, participating as a young officer in the 1973 October War against Israel on the Syrian front, followed by deployments in Lebanon and Eritrea during the 1970s. However, his military legacy was truly forged during the Iran-Iraq War (1980–1988), where he earned the title "Hero of Al-Qadisiyah" for his exceptional battlefield leadership. His finest military hour came during the 1988 Liberation of Al-Faw (Operation Blessed Ramadan), where he commanded the 2nd Armored Brigade of the Republican Guard ("The Knight Forces"). Serving as the literal spearhead of the strategic offensive, his unit successfully crushed Iranian defensive lines and retook the Al-Faw peninsula in a stunning 35-hour operation, earning him Iraq's highest military medals and badges of courage. Later, during the 1990–1991 Gulf War, his formidable reputation led to his appointment as the Commander of the Gulf Forces and the Military Governor of Kuwait during the Iraqi occupation.Despite his immense popularity and professional brilliance, Bariq was a strict, blunt soldier who lacked political cunning and refused to flatter the ruling regime, a trait that ultimately sealed his tragic fate. Following the devastating retreat of the Iraqi Army from Kuwait in early 1991, the political leadership in Baghdad became deeply paranoid about potential military coups led by disillusioned wartime heroes. On April 4, 1991, Major General Bariq, along with fellow commander Ismat Sabir Al-Khajaji, was summoned to a high-level briefing that quickly deteriorated into a tense, heated confrontation regarding the catastrophic handling of the war #iraq #iran #شعب_الصيني_ماله_حل #مالي_خلق_احط_هاشتاقات #war
