So tragic on so many levels one of which is the Sherpa wives and children need the income. I have an Everest friend who’s Sherpa was lost 2 yrs after they peaked. He and several others financially support the wife and the 4 boys have been in the best private school for 9 years. They will be funding college abroad for the boys too. Their education will help stop the chain, and those boys won’t be forced to climb/guide. I’m hopeful these Sherpa families receive the same support. If you have the money to do this stuff, you need to give more than you take!

It was bound to happen. Nims chance of dying from avalanche was far greater than anyone else in mountaineering having summited mountains above 8000 meters for more than 50 times. I honestly didn't think he would stop doing all this risks one way or another until his body said no more. He got run out luck and was at wrong place and time. So sad. Truly a great loss in mountaineering
