@explorewithfestus_: Study in New Zealand and turn your degree into a pathway to permanent residence 🇳🇿 The smartest way to use New Zealand’s study route is to choose a qualification connected to a skilled occupation and a clear residence pathway. Here is the process: 1️⃣ Choose the right course Prioritise a recognised bachelor’s, master’s, PhD or approved qualification connected to areas such as: ✅ Healthcare ✅ Teaching ✅ Engineering ✅ Construction ✅ Information technology ✅ Science ✅ Selected skilled trades Check the Green List and Post Study Work Visa rules before paying tuition. 2️⃣ Apply for admission and a student visa You need an offer of place from a recognised New Zealand education provider, proof of funds and the required visa documents. 3️⃣ Complete your studies A degree-level 7 qualification or higher normally requires at least 30 weeks of full-time study in New Zealand for Post Study Work Visa eligibility. 4️⃣ Apply for the Post Study Work Visa Eligible graduates can work in New Zealand for up to 3 years, depending on their qualification and study duration. You normally need at least NZD $5,000 for living expenses when applying. From 16 November 2026, eligibility also expands to certain Level 7 graduate-diploma graduates who already hold a bachelor’s degree. 5️⃣ Move from work to residence Your main options include: • Green List Tier 1: get an eligible job and apply for Straight to Residence. • Green List Tier 2: work in the eligible role for 24 months, then apply through Work to Residence. • Skilled Migrant Category: secure a skilled job with an accredited employer and reach 6 points through your qualification, professional registration, income and eligible New Zealand work experience. From 24 August 2026, New Zealand qualifications receive stronger recognition under the Skilled Migrant Category. New Zealand first grants a Resident Visa. After holding it for 2 years and meeting the conditions, you may apply for a Permanent Resident Visa. The real strategy is not “study anything and hope.” Choose a course connected to the Green List, professional registration and real skilled-job opportunities.
