If you’re doing crochet colourwork of any kind - fair isle, intarsia, stripes, colour blocking or anything else you need to hear this! Use the same base of yarn! Or at the minimum the same fibre. Even if the yarn is the same fibre there are sometimes not so subtle weight differences between brands that can make your colourwork look inconsistent.
