You need to educate yourself though on how they are paid before you comment. It’s not a normal hourly wage you are trying to equate it to. It’s done differently with Standard Cabin Crew: $28.45 – $53.61 per credit hour.Widebody Cabin Managers: $37.54 – $69.69 per credit hour for in air time. Perhaps they need to just hire at an overall lower hourly wage instead of inflating in air time and then no one will get mad.

Air Canada to go to Hawaii in Jan charge over 400$ just to select the seats we wanted. Last year we flew business class because it was just two of us. It was 5 thousand round trip for the two of us. This year they wanted 10k

I agree I was going to fly to Ontario with my son and it would’ve cost me about $2000 more and I could take him to Vegas. So I booked a trip for us to go to Vegas in September.

The problem is that their hourly wages were designed to be inflated to cover their ground time and also allow them to make more money prior to the FAA hourly cap. This will just ground the workers once they get to their cap faster and then they'll be making LESS. Not only that there won't be as many flights.

the reason why flights in Canada are so expensive is because of the government taxes and fees they impose at airports. so the airlines carry that onto the consumer. they treat the airports like ATMs while the rest of the planet ENCOURAGE travel in their country so the taxes and fees aren't as much.

They get paid a differential. Similar to how a teacher makes $75K a year with two months off. But will tell you they “don’t get paid” for those two months. But a normal job making $75K is not getting two months plus all stats etc off. I agree Westjet and all carriers are a bunch of money grubbers. For sure. But this position gets paid in a way that accounts for the “unpaid time”. Plus. Check their other perks as an employee of an airline. I think it’s multi faceted.

Yes and no. Take a look at how much the goverment charges flights to land in Canada vs USA. At the end of the day it's the goverment causing higher flight prices
