Agreed. 😭 I defended Liu Haocun with my blood when BPIL was airing because I genuinely loved it. I actually found both leads’ acting very natural. The way they portrayed being in love felt realistic to me, it honestly felt like how I’d probably act if I were in love too. 😂 I think one of the biggest reasons she received so much hate was, first, because of the title. People expected passionate romance and lots of kissing since it was adapted from the novel. I don’t really care about that, though, because I haven’t read the novel. Second, because she doesn’t do kissing scenes. Personally, I agree that romance can be portrayed in so many different ways. Kissing isn’t the only way to express love. Of course, everyone has different opinions on that. What I do think, though, is that the directing handled it poorly. It felt really unnecessary to include scenes where they were clearly trying to make it look like they kissed when everyone knew they didn’t. They could’ve replaced those moments with other forms of intimacy or emotional connection instead. Those fake kiss angles just made everything feel awkward. Other than the weak directing and some questionable writing, I actually liked both of their performances. Their eyes did so much of the acting. you could really feel the emotions they were trying to convey without needing overly dramatic expressions or physical intimacy in my opinion.

it is literally ok if they don't include kisses in dramas but they be casting them in dramas where kiss is a must duhhhhh. That's not how it works maybe cast them in other dramas that is suitable for them

ngl seeing Haocun’s career rn, esp with how much she’s loved, respected, and hyped up massive-style in China NOW, just proves she’s pure talent fr. like, no forced CP promo or intimate scenes needed, which is usually what gets people hooked & famous. she skipped all that and STILL hits back to back bangers with every drama and movie. she’s literally out here setting n leading many new records as a post 00s actress. highkey respect her sticking to her own principles and still blowing up like crazy😭

In my country also actor and actresses banned to do kissing scene because of religion and cultures policy but still their acting is soo good and the love and feelings can be surreal even without intimate scene that good actor are about.
