I had someone say they were poor. She’s a private therapist, has a cabin on the lake, lives in a gated community, her kids go to private school, goes to Disney every year, etc. that’s not even mentioning her husband. I had to skip eating for a few days to feed my cats…

"We're not rich we're comfortable" is eaily the most rich person thing you can say. I heard that from a girl once whose parents owned two houses and a ranch. Like girl, I was literally born in a renovated school's that had broken down in the midwife's driveway, and when I was five I was living out of a van with my mom, my brother's dad, my baby brother, and two dogs. We are not operating in even remotely similar contexts here

I remember getting into an argument with one of my friends friend (She had decided to sit with us) cause she was complaining how she could only go to Disney world (flying btw and she'd buy a BUNCH of things there) 3 times that year instead of four. Meanwhile all of my vacations to that point had only been camping. Her argument was "well my parents actually work HARD". girl you think mine dont????

A lot of the time kids like this do meet and see even richer kids because of their families affiliations. Also I think unfortunately their parents try to humble them by saying they aren’t rich instead of teaching them the real differences in classes
