Islam was never complicated We did that through culture, opinions, and fear of people. Let’s go back to what Allah and His Prophet fi actually said... not what society decided. Things that are not sinful but culture made them look wrong: 1. Saying no to elders respectfully Boundaries are not disobedience. Islam teaches kindness and clarity. It was narrated from ‘Ali (رضي اللّه عنه) that the Prophet ﷺ said: “There is no obedience to any created being if it involves disobedience to Allah, may He be glorified and exalted.” (Musnad Ahmad 1095) Respect doesn’t mean silence when something crosses your limits. 2. Women studying It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Seeking knowledge is a duty upon every Muslim, and he who imparts knowledge to those who do not deserve it, is like one who puts a necklace of jewels, pearls and gold around the neck of swines.” (Ibn Mãjah 224) 3. Mental health struggles Hardship doesn’t mean weak faith. Even prophets felt deep sadness. Allah says: “He turned away from them, lamenting, “Alas, poor Joseph!” And his eyes turned white out of the grief he suppressed.” (Qur’an 12:84 - Prophet Ya’qub عليه السلام) Prophet ﷺ who said: “Indeed greater reward comes with greater trial. And indeed, when Allah loves a people He subjects them to trials, so whoever is content, then for him is pleasure, and whoever is discontent, then for him is wrath.” (Tirmidhi 2396) Your pain is a test, not a punishment. 4. Marrying later Marriage has no “deadline.” Rizq and timing are written. Allah says: “and provide for them from sources they could never imagine. And whoever puts their trust in Allah, then He ‘alone’ is sufficient for them. Certainly Allah achieves His Will. Allah has already set a destiny for everything.” (Qur’an 65:3) Delay isn’t denial it’s divine planning. 5. Asking “why” in deen Seeking understanding isn’t disrespect - it’s growth. Allah says: “Do they not then reflect on the Quran? Or are there locks upon their hearts?” (Qur’an 47:24) Islam encourages reflection arrogance is rejected, not curiosity. - @alinoor.ahmed
