Tell the public the world is dangerous. Russia. China. Cyber attacks. Sabotage. Military threats. Get people used to hearing: “We must be ready.” That stage is already here. Stage Two: Prepare the mind. This is where I think we are now. Resilience. Sacrifice. Readiness. Experts warning about war. Politicians talking about conscription. The idea of war slowly becomes normal conversation. That matters. Because before you can ask people to fight, you first have to make them believe they may have to. Stage Three: Prepare the home. Food. Water. Torches. Radios. Power banks. Medicine. What happens if the power goes out? What happens if communications go down? People are already being told to think about emergency supplies. Stage Four: Prepare the country. Protect power stations. Transport. Communications. Ports. Food supplies. Hospitals. Critical infrastructure. Make the country harder to knock out. Stage Five: Prepare people to fight. This is the big one. National service. Military training. Call-ups. Conscription. And remember this: Britain introduced compulsory military training in 1939 before war was declared. That’s the stage I would really watch. Stage Six: War. Mobilisation. Emergency powers. Troops deployed. Civilian life changes. That was Britain in September 1939. So no — I’m not saying we are at war. I’m not saying war is certain. I’m saying watch the stages.
