I was in Ukraine army twice and I can tell you the Ukrainian army takes firearm responsibility very well. Everything is counted for, loose your weapon and you open up a door to a nightmare of bureaucracy you don't want 😂 Mostly the weapons floating around are trophy ones and good luck getting that over any border. Leaving Ukraine to Poland the Polish border gaurds check everything, under every car, bus or truck, inside and out. Dogs sniffing for expensives, gun powder, its almost impossible to smuggle anything out. And they cant fly them out, any aircraft out of Ukraine will be noticed quickly and would need state clearance. It isn't impossible but it very unlikely that any weapon is heading out of Ukraine to the hands of criminals.

Anything that Russia says is not credible. For months prior to invasion, they kept denying the troop build up along Ukraine border as military exercises. Then they invated.
