The lions did it a favor that pup was injured and rather then leaving it to suffer it took the easy meal if the pup was healthy the family would have been around trying to protect it. The family abandoned the puppy because there is no point in saving a pup that is injured

The cub was already crippled i saw the whole clip. He could not keep up with the pack and the lion put it out of its misery in my opinion. eventually the video show a fast and quick finish. They do the same to other lions hurn in a similar manner and other species too. In the end it's a mercy kill.
