So…. Super hot take. I don’t think books are “over hyped”. If lots of people love it. Than they love it. Maybe I don’t love it or you don’t love it (I also was sooo disappointed with Lightweilder). But people aren’t over hyping it they love it. No Hate I love your book recs ✌🏻

FBAA was such a strong start and then just fell off. I actually really enjoyed book 4 too, but 5 felt pointless and 6 was INFURIATING! I’m still holding out hope that the last book will somehow redeem the fuckery from book 6, but the hope is not high. The prequel series was bomb though 🖤 Ash/Nyktos

I also DNF trial of the sun queen at book 3, I’ve found a few series that I’ve really enjoyed the first 2 books but goes down hill at book 3 on wards 😩

I DNF a lot of series. There’s just too many books out there to read something that feels like a chore. I’ve also went back and finished a couple DNF’d series and ended up loving them. (ACOTAR for example).

I got passed the throuple part in From Ash and blood series and I still didn’t finish. It was way too long and just didn’t keep me interested. Although, I did love Casteel. ❤️

Blood and Ash, and Flesh and Fire series was sooo overhyped and was a waste of time for me…I will still end up reading book 7. I am invested. It does not get any better after book 3 and the prequel series were near mirror images of each other. You are not missing anything.

I have yet to read the most recent Blood and Ash book because it burnt me out when I read all the others like two years ago. I will say however that the Flesh and Fire series is worth it!! So much better than Blood and Ash in my opinion.

This kingdom will not kill me was so bad 😭 The FMC constantly Info drops random shit and there are like 4 characters with almost exact same names to the point i had no idea who is who and nothing in the plot was surprising because i had no idea what character we're talking about

From Blood and Ash is one of my favorite series but I definitely understand why people get bored with the pacing. I just read aspect of essence series and loved that too.

I also wasn’t super happy with how light wielder went. I did finish it bc I wanted to know what happened. At the time I rated it 5 stars, but looking back and after processing my emotions it was more of a 3.5 star read for me. I was satisfied with the ending but wish the beginning wouldn’t started off differently

You’re smart for stopping FBAA at book 3. I made it to primal of blood and bone and DNFd. I waited. Such a disappointment. Plus, poppy uses incessant questions to drive the plot forward. Ugh I wasted so much time on it
