You really didn't give it a fair shot. 7 months isn't nearly long enough to adjust. Two years would have been about right. Everyone is homesick at first, but it almost always passes as you get more involved in your new community. Plus in this day and age its so easy to stay connected with people long distance.

As an immigrant (moved here 20+yrs ago as an adult). I was told first 2 yrs are the hardest to stop being so homesick. I can attest to that. 7 months wont do it

You gotta do what you gotta do, but legitimately 7 months is not remotely long enough to let yourself truly make a life there and let things settle. I genuinely think you'll regret coming back here.
