Mother yelled at me alot for biting my nails, threatened me with therapy for it; I quickly agreed and begged to go so she instantly started saying how she would never take me "because I would only say lies about her"

I started cutting myself in middle school, my entire family demonized me for it, mocked me for being “too sensitive.” My brother was mole-sting me my entire life and THEY KNEW. They decided it was easier to throw me under the bus, shrug, and say “idk what her problem is, she’s so spoiled” because they didn’t want to address the fact they birthed & raised a psychopath ( my older brother.)

You see so many kids in that situation in psychiatric inpatient too. It’s so creepy watching all the staff and professionals try to convince the kids that it’s their fault or that they can just fix their parents if they get “better”.

I genuinely did not off myself or become a substance abuser/addict due to sheer stubbornness and likely my ancestors having my back. There was nobody to ask for help while my parents did this to me.

i never believe a parent when they say that their kid is “manipulative,” “conniving” or “bad” because why would a twelve year old child act that way unless there was something going on at home that they’re acting out at for attention because they’re not getting help they need / they learned that behavior from adults!

Why as an adult I am so mad at my mom and dad. Bc as an adult you are very aware of everything you do and I see that they was well aware of it. Very odd.

I always can trace a kid’s behavior to what is modeled at home and how parents respond to their kid’s needs. What’s wild is that studies show a parent only has to properly attune to their kids 30% of the time to raise secure people. That bar is low - and it still wasn’t met 😔
