@more_withmia: I have so many conversations with women who have so many different symptoms and stories when it comes to birth control… and it all narrows down to masking up symptoms like acne or heavy periods, rather than just facing them head on! I came off the pill after 12 years and had to heal my hormonal acne and go through the changes and navigate everything by myself. That’s why I created my Beyond the Pill ebook. If you’ve been thinking of coming off the pill, understanding your hormones, tracking your cycle naturally + feeling more feminine than ever, DM me “PILL” and I’ll the ebook straight to you 💌 #womenshealth #postpill #acne #hormones

I had an IUD for 12 years and it was the best thing I ever did. Why are we demonizing contraceptives?

Any reason is a good enough reason to use any form of contraception - women fought years for us to have that access

I’m so scared to come off it- I’m worried about side effects from not being on it. I have PCOS too. Can anyone put my mind at rest?! I really want to come off it x

My boyfriend was very supportive when I said I wanted to come off the implant. It’s been the best thing I’ve ever done. We use condoms because we don’t want me having to take contraception

I was on contraception from the age of 14 until the age of 25-26. I came off of it completely 3 years ago and have never felt better!!

Sometimes hormonal contraceptives are a saving grace for some women. I wouldn’t be able to cope without mine. Medical waiting lists are too long and advocating for yourself is exhausting. Please understand there’s nuance

Can I just say there’s a difference between not being on contraception when your in a committed relationship. It’s STUPID to not be on contraception when you just “sleeping” with someone. Getting pregnant to the wrong man could change your entire life. It’s not about the child, it’s about who you’ll be connected to forever

I am 32yo and they told me I was refusing treatment when I told them I didn't want to go on the pill. Unfortunately I started the pill in January 2026 and had 3 strokes since. Please listen to your gut. If it's not right for you please don't be pressured. You know best.

I so so agree - women are taught to do everything to make everyone else’s life easier - but we can’t continue to do that with our own health - was on the pill once for 4 months at 16 and I’d NEVER do it again - 23 now and thriving 🤍 love what you’re doing

The pill makes me so emotionally unregulated, I’ve been tracking my ovulation for 10 years and it works perfectly.

I’ve been off it since April and honestly feel so much better but I’ve only had one breakthrough bleed and no reoccurring period since then, I have PCOS so kind of knew it would be difficult anyway for them to come back naturally. Your content has really reassured me that I made the right choice!

I'm sorry but it's a lot more complex for some women than just heavy periods and "not facing things head on", I've had unexplained symptoms for 10 years, under investigations, tests, laparoscopy, multiple medications and trying various pills and the only thing that the nhs has offered me that stops me being in constant chronic pain is the coil ( mirena) I'd love to be hormone free and be on no contraception, not am I on it for my partner, I never was. I just can't risk a life of coming off contraception back into debilitating pain and symptoms. Contraception is more than just a plaster to cover symptoms, for a lot of it it gives us our life back
