I haven't the slightest idea the tone, or the limits of the healing powers you described, but my first thought was dismemberment and separation, intentional or otherwise. Most healing powers can't just regenerate a whole/part of a torso.

I can't believe we have the same problem 😭 My sister and i had to re-write the death of a character who haunts the narrative in our comic for the same reason. Death was too stupid, middle school us did NOT think hard about it at all 🤣

I don’t know why but that makes me think of the time everyone had so little trust in Rick Riordan that they all thought Will had to die, just because he is blonde and every other important character that was blonde died. Or just Arthur Conan Doyle that was so done with Sherlock Holmes that he couldn’t wait to get rid of him .

One of the things in my story that has to happen to a couple characters is a sort of marriage/blood bond, because they are trapped in a coercive situation and the bond was a way out. this affects several plot points later on, but the situation itself feels very contrived although I had thought of what's happening in the background that made this situation happen... and that situation is incredibly horrifying, but something similar has happened in real life for thousands of years and one such situation was brought to the surface recently, so maybe not as contrived as I believe.

I also have a character that has to die. I started feeling bad about it because I like him, but his death is the entire catalyst. There is no story without his death. Well there’s plenty of story without his death. It’s just not the story that I created this world to tell. So he has to die.

I also have a character death that is the catlast to literally every character, but how he actually dies is vague in my mind I know that one of my characters will be there fighting by his side but I don't know how I will make everything go wrong, that and I have another character death that is important to my main character, her brother, but I don't know how to make the situation that lead will be responsible for his death but ending up holding his body then she got stabbed by her younger sister

I have something similar happen were the charecter who has to die is killed in a way that's technically preventable"either remove the choker or stop the bleeding till help arives" but the only one who can help isn't able to focus because the one who hurt the charecter is still right there. amd they can't decide between using their power to stop the bleeding or using their power to stop the villans heart. and becuse it take alot of focus for this power to work and becuse they don't know if their is. their only chance to defeat the villan....he isn't able to do either the villan escapes and his friend(basically his sister) bleeds out from a stab through her neck leaving him wondering if he really is ment to be a hero.....so that's one way to do it

This is me with writing and important character death in my series too. The dude is the last demigod, king of all the giants, wielder of The Living Primeval, and the slayer of the first god of war. Literally the oldest character in the story, whose death would not only see a new dark age arise but see the rebirth of a war between the gods that will supposedly end the world...so when does he die? I don't know yet
