I think I was undersold protein When I was getting more into fitness, there was so much anti-hype marketing around how oversold many supplements were (including protein) Because of this, I didn't pay that much attention to it. I just ate my regular, fairly balanced meals. To be clear, that still "worked" in the sense that nothing broke about me. I still made decent fitness progress. However, getting a bit extra protein (whether through shakes or just meals) has helped me feel and recover a bit better. I'm not sure how many people are like me in this case. Note: my default mode is usually to be in a slight deficit. As in, if I'm not paying attention and actively trying to maintain or gain weight, I usually end up losing weight. So that may have contributed to me not eating as much as some people do. Some already get more than enough. I still have trouble believing that protein powder does anything. I say that somewhat jokingly, but I still have the idea that powders = supplements = products that make companies rich. I know they can be useful though. I believe some research like Nunes et al., 2022 has found that we don't need *as* much protein for muscle growth as is sometimes preached. That makes sense. However, ranges are given because the true ideal amount will vary from person to person. So I just adjusted how much I got until I found a sweet spot. Have a wonderful day #hybridcalisthenics

my new favourite mountain here in Scotland! 🏴 Suilven (731m) is tucked away in the far north of the highlands and so it is one you could include if you were to roadtrip the NC500. #scotlandhiking #scotlandhikes #solohiking
It really shocked me #greek #relateablecontent #mrpeabodysherman #joke #odyssey
