@bashi.media: Following the successful commencement of the third leg of her nationwide tourism promotion tour in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the Minister of State for Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities, Hon. Susan Nsambu Nakawukyi, today undertook her first-ever mountain gorilla trekking experience, where she encountered the renowned Binyindo Gorilla Family. The memorable trek offered the Minister a firsthand appreciation of Uganda’s exceptional wildlife heritage and reaffirmed the country’s position as one of the world’s leading destinations for mountain gorilla tourism. The experience further highlighted the importance of continued conservation efforts, sustainable tourism and the protection of Uganda’s unique biodiversity. As part of her visit, Hon. Nsambu also immersed herself in the rich cultural heritage of the Batwa community through an authentic cultural experience. The Minister witnessed traditional demonstrations showcasing the Batwa’s indigenous way of life, including hunting techniques, traditional entertainment, herbal medicine harvesting, and other cultural practices that have been passed down through generations. Speaking during the engagement, the Minister reiterated the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities’ commitment to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of indigenous communities as an integral component of Uganda’s tourism offering. She emphasized that safeguarding the traditions, knowledge systems, and cultural identity of the Batwa complements the country’s conservation agenda while creating sustainable livelihood opportunities through community-based tourism. Hon. Nakawukyi further noted that the Ministry will continue to work closely with the Uganda Wildlife Authority, local governments, development partners and host communities to ensure that tourism development remains inclusive, enabling communities living around protected areas to benefit from Uganda’s thriving tourism sector while preserving both the country’s natural and cultural heritage for future generations. The Minister’s ongoing nationwide tour continues to showcase Uganda’s diverse tourism attractions, strengthen conservation awareness and promote meaningful community participation in the sustainable management of the country’s protected areas and cultural resources.#ministryoftourismuganda #VisitUganda #EXPOSESCAMUGANDA #foryoupageofficiall❤️❤️tiktok

I'm a Munyoro. This language is very close to Runyakitara languages. However, I realize that since these Batwa people reside in Kigezi, they adopted a language which is about 80% Rukiga and 20% Rufumbira.
