I don’t think enough people talk about that, based on concept art, before the warlords, hachi and robin may have originally been planned to be the same character. Meaning either jinbei was made to make up for robin not being a fishman anymore, or robin was made because jinbei was a cooler idea for the fishman rep.

spoilers for whole cake cause i just finnished it makes me wonder if instead if bege oda has a subplot with an assassin bounty hunter & replaced then with one of the supernovas or was there a whole different plan for stealimg from & fighting off big mom was big mom gonna be beaten in 1 arch or chase even harder like smoker before & after reverse mountain
