I go with Area code 413. Western Mass is Hampshire, Hampden, Franklin, and Berkshire counties. START with a vague line of Brimfield/Granby, and West Brrokfield, maybe Athol

MA is broken up pretty evenly. If it's east of 95 then it's Boston, between 95 and 84 is central MA, 84 to the Westfield exit on the Pike is western MA, west of that is the Berkshires. There are big highways dividing up the state.

I like to use the water supplies as waypoints…West of the Quabbin Reservoir is Western Mass. East of the Quabbin, west of the Wachusett Reservoir is Central Mass.
