That’s incredibly confusing because when parents let their kids go out into the public and be independent and walk around the block, go to the park, etc. people call the police or CAS and claim child endangerment… We get told we’re being helicopter parents, but scolded when we’re not…

Well, duh, of course there's a low chance of it happening with parents now keeping their kids at home or by their side at all times. What we should be looking at is the likelihood of a child to be kidnapped when they're alone at places like the park versus when they're with parents - not just their likelihood to be kidnapped at any given point in time

It’s not just kidnapping…. S/A, grape, bullying, etc.. most of us are parenting based off our own experiences being in these situations. And all of us know someone knows been in the same exact spot. It’s more common than this leads
