For the folks who think Super ruined Goku's character, I like to think of it this way. In Z, it was one thing after another. Saiyans showed up, then right after they went to Namek, as soon as Goku got back to Earth, Androids then Cell, then he was dead, then Buu. Almost no time to actually unwind without some threat looming, he was locked in all the time. After Buu, he had almost 4 years with to unwind with nothing happening. 4 years to adjust to normal life with no real reason to lock in. He's just used to domestic life. To me that's a good explanation for a shift in character
