:Autistic "sense of justice" can be very frustration to deal wirh in my day to day work. I am a lawyer working with disability law and it happens so often that autistic clients respond with "well you just don't understand because you don't have our sense of justice" when they fail to understand why some rules and regulation don't apply to them just because they apply to someone else with autism

This gives me so much anxiety at work. I follow the rules to the T. I get there early, never late, follow every rule and leave on time. But I keep getting called into my boss’s office because how is it possible that I’m never late? Or how is my productivity at 96% when my coworkers are at 75%. My co workers are always late every single day even if the hospital has strict rules. When in 15 years I was late 1 time and got in trouble for it. Apparently the rules apply to only me.

Oh, I just be snitchin. I have to follow all of the rules but they dont? pffft. we get paid the same, we get the same diploma, we are ALL going to be miserable.

Ironically, I find that most often I'M the one who udnerstands that rules can bend and that we should leave room for compassion, while the neurotypicals around me won't even clearly explain the rules they insist on strictly enforcing.

I had a situation like this with a client recently!!! Parent came early for pickup without warning, meaning we couldn’t go outside to play like we planned anymore. Client got super escalated and while parent and I are trying to deescalate, parent and I are modeling certain phrases and at one point we high fived to model positive touch. My client started saying I HIT HIS MOM!! I was like “woah that’s not what happened” and it took us a long time to get back to baseline before they went home. It was so interesting how communication got misinterpreted in that moment and I felt so bad that we inadvertently caused the upset all stemming from those scheduled expectations changing!

Am trying to get diagnosed and this has made me understand why I get so angry upset and sometimes jealous about things that don’t sometimes imply to me I feel like justice is a very good thing cause to me it seems fair even if I get into trouble or cause arguments but that does make me worse cause it feels unfair when I get the blame for doing something back

I think we have two versions of this and I’m not sure how to appropriately articulate them: justice sensitivity over rigid rules/“frivolous” things and justice sensitivity over human rights violation’s/fighting for equity and inclusion for all people.

I fliped off an older woman for parking in an intersection. She looked at me like i was a problem. Ya it wasn't the best choice,but in my opinion you shouldn't park where people drive in and out.
