Actually i literally went back to bed. My husband asked “baby what was that” and I just casually said “my grandma died” as I was laying back down he tried cuddling me and saying he was sorry but I felt nothing I just went back to sleep. The day of her funeral I shed more tears behind those sunglasses than I ever have ever. It was when I seen her body. Felt the coldness. Seen how lifeless it was that it finally hit me. She was gone. The women who did everything she could to make my childhood a bit better was gone… and to this day I hate myself for just going back to sleep because it’s been 3 years and I’m crying while typing this. I can’t even think about her or talk about her without breaking down. I hope she knows how much I truly truly loved her and how I really just thought she’d live forever.
