The average salary needed to live comfortably in America ranges from $80,000 to over $100,000 for a single adult, and around $195,000 to $235,000 for a family of four. The 2026 federal poverty guideline is $15,960 for an individual, $27,320 for a family of three, and $33,000 for a family of four and these are numbers that are based on 1963 prices and is adjusted each year based on current inflation but it does not account for modern-day cost of living. So basically most of us just fall in the range of making too little to live comfortably but making too much to get adequate government assistance. 😭

Walmart technically benefits twice because those benefits supplement their workers so Walmart doesn't have to pay a livable wage and then those workers also spend that money at Walmart.

Amazon’s rebuttal is valid. They do generate a TON of jobs, especially in areas like Portland Oregon. That does NOT mean you are going to get a golden wage. It just means you will get a job. The tasks most of those people are doing are repetitive (stocking, etc). They are JOBS, not careers 💯
