My dad did this in the basement by screwing the lids to the floor joist. All of the stuff was up out of the way, but easily reachable with one hand.

I remember going out to my great grandpa's woodshed and he did the Mason jars all over the ceiling. Being only 6 years old I had no idea what this was for and then later in life I'm like "man that was really genius."

i just have a shelf for yarn storage because my crafting station/yarn tote travels with me, but as it turns out having needles loose in a bag is just asking to get stabbed. so i took one of grandma’s old pill bottles and started putting my needles in it for safety.
