@sacramentourbanmedia916: A Georgia mother has been charged after police say her 1-year-old son died after being left inside a parked vehicle for nearly nine hours while she worked a shift at a hospital. According to the Lawrenceville Police Department, officers responded around 3:50 p.m. on July 29 after receiving a report of an unresponsive child locked inside a vehicle in the employee parking lot at Northside Gwinnett Hospital. First responders attempted lifesaving measures, but the toddler was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators said the child’s mother, 29-year-old Deja Coleman, told officers she arrived at work around 6:55 a.m. after dropping off her two older children at daycare. She allegedly forgot her youngest child was still in the back seat, leaving him inside the vehicle for almost the entire workday. Police said the car’s interior temperature measured 117 degrees about an hour after the child was removed, despite the day’s outdoor high being around 86 degrees. Coleman was arrested and charged with second-degree murder and second-degree cruelty to children. Authorities said she was devastated upon learning of her son’s death. She has since been booked into the Gwinnett County Detention Center as the investigation continues.#fyp #crime #viral
