The thing happened to my mom. Our grandmother (my father’s mom) abducted my 5yo sister while my father was being arrested for domestic violence and child abuse and the first he did was requesting a call to his mom and ask to take his kids (my sister and I. my brother was 2 and stayed with my mom when the police came). When my mom realized what happened the kindergarten apologized so hard that since the incident, they established a contact sheet you filled at the start of the year about who was authorized to pick up your children. And if someone non-written on the list came and ask for your kids they immediately called for the parents.
