Do not leave anyone behind thinking they will catch up. DO NOT LEAVE PETS. Open barns and gates and fences if you cannot take livestock with you. Or they'll be trapped. Make sure you have a phone charger in the car. Loved ones will want to know where you're at. Take water and food for travel. Don't forget your Bug Out bag. Be safe.

As a Canadian, I am appalled by these comments. Just because a lot of Americans were absolute trash over the smoke from our fires, doesn't mean we have to be the same. this is devastating for people and terrifying. my fellow countrymen and women need to do better...
