Lots of people commenting on washing speeding up rot time. I have the containers and things dry out very well in them. They work surprisingly well.

washing strawberries just to let them sit in your fridge makes them soggy faster less you make sure they are VERY dry before hand

unfortunate but true- some of y'all's produce is modeling no matter what you do cause your city's water system isn't clean. mine isn't, I have to use water fill stations for food and drinking
