I’ve lived here all my life (24 years) and I’ve never seen the actual CITY of Spokane have to evacuate to this extent. Yes the surrounding areas have fires constantly, it’s a yearly occurrence and expected at this point but seeing how fast this spread into Spokane was insane today. Working at a nursing home and being AT WORK I was so stressed out about how I was going to get everyone out if I had to evacuate and we were right on the cusp of evacuation

I just can’t take it anymore.. we as humans need to treat this land better. Stop destroying it, we have nothing without it.. I just got over the Ontario Canada fires and I live in Niagara Falls NY. It seems to be every week there’s a new wildfire starting. I know this happens yearly, but this is not normal. I want to cry, it’s devastating our land, wildlife, ozone layer. Now we have the data centers taking the water for AI. What is happening ??????

Do not wait to evacuate. With the wind it'll move quicker than you expect. in 2020 6 people died in the Santiam Canyon. the wind took out power lines and cell towers went out, people did not get the evacuation notice.

NW WA here. My heart hurts every summer when the fires happen. I hope everyone is safe and they grab their pets. We don’t smell the smoke or have the ash falling here. Yet.

I know the feeling. Don’t wait if you don’t have a bag packed already packet get your important papers and things you absolutely have to have. Throw them in the car in the truck and go. Everything else can be replaced. I was evacuated for 17 days during the holiday farm fire here in Oregon a few years ago. we thought for sure. Our house wasgonna be gone when we got home.
