My mother was a pitcher for the Peaches. She just passed away back at Christmas time. Not many of the members still around. The game never left her either.

One year they didn’t have enough girls sign up for Little League softball in our county so any girls who wanted to play had to play baseball with the boys. My daughter didn’t want to sit out for a season so she played with the boys. The coaches told her not to throw so hard because the boys couldn’t catch her throws. I told her as long as she was on target she better never dull her talent down for a boy. It was her responsibility to make a good throw, it was THEIR responsibility to catch it. They needed to pull up for the occasion. She went on to be an amazing softball player. I am so proud of the player that she was but even more so of the fearless young woman she always has been that refuses to dull herself to satisfy someone else.

I remember in the late 80's when they told me I couldn't play baseball with the boys anymore and I had to switch to softball. I just cried tears of joy at this video ❤️

People... IT'S "ALL THE WAY MAY"!!! 😯😉😁 Maybelle Blair pitched for the Peoria Redwings in '48, and also played for the Chicago Cardinals. She is no doubt a Legend in her own rite! This set off my frisson... ✨⚾🙌🏼⚾✨
