I’ve always felt Kimberly was the contestant who was most likely to stand out on the international stage. She has a look that aligns with what many global pageants and fashion industries often celebrate when they think of African beauty. Beyond that, she’s absolutely stunning and was young enough to grow, adapt, and become even stronger with experience. The winner is beautiful too, but she has a more common pageant/model look, which makes it harder to stand out internationally. Kimberly, on the other hand, had something distinctive. I genuinely believe I would have crowned her and watched her thrive on the global stage. Sometimes it feels like Uganda misses opportunities by not recognizing what resonates internationally while still embracing our own identity. To me, Kimberly was one of those rare contestants who had that “it” factor, and it feels like a missed opportunity.

As much as I wanted Kim to win, the organisation made the right choice. Kim is still young. She can return and compete for Miss Universe. She will be more experienced and mature. She must continue building her advocacy. Improve her walk. Start a business or add a degree. She still has so much to do. Miss Universe is brutal and it may have done more damage than good to her young spirit.

How I wish people stopped commenting with emotions. Daka's height and composure handed her the crown. She's so eloquent and her advocacy is equally as good as the rest of the delegates. There was no time Daka showed nervousness in answering questions even when she was. She deserved the crown and Kim deserved everything she won and more.
