1. set schedules 2. understand your child's body language (no two are alike) 3. label sensations I used tummy and stomach or lower belly or bottom if you're comfortable using scientific names go for it, depends on the child's vocabulary. 4. Lead but don't force, accidents happen and are OK! 5. Reward with positivity for a successful potty in the toilet. 6. Each child is unique could take 2 weeks to be fully trained or 6 months to a year, the end goal is the same, your child happy and having learned the sensation of needing to go and understanding the importance of going when they feel the need not "going on schedule" 🥰

Currently trying to train my 2 year old. When I bring him to the potty or when I bring the potty to him, he actively holds it and then the moment he gets off the potty he runs away and pees somewhere else 😭 I've tried catching it when he does it, but he just holds it and runs off again. Literally any suggestions would be helpful right now bc I'm running out of carpet cleaner fast 😭

Before we actually started potty training, we used to tell our toddler “I have to potty, do you want to come with me?” It made him super interested so by the time he started, he thought it was fun
