On August 1, my group attended the 4:00 PM showing of The Odyssey at Cinemark Lincoln Square Cinemas and IMAX in Bellevue, WA (Seattle area). Due to a ticketing system error, five of us were assigned seats that had already been given to other customers, leaving us with nowhere to sit despite having valid tickets. Instead of apologizing or finding a solution, the manager, Frank (who initially appeared to be wearing a name tag that said “Nathaniel”), told us to leave and threatened to call security if we didn’t. We were polite the entire time—we simply wanted the theater to honor the tickets we had paid for. Five paying customers missed the movie because of Cinemark’s own system error, yet we were treated as if we had done something wrong. This was, without question, the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had at a movie theater.
