about 15 years ago my sister forced me to raft the Ocoee. she had been several times and insisted I would love it. I highly doubted that and was pretty sure I was handing myself and my three daughters into death's hand with callous indifference. She told our guide, he was called Duck we were nervous. I pulled Duck aside and told him that I was ok to go to the other side if it was my time. however, the three best things in my life were also going to be in the raft and if he planned any kind of shenanigans like flipping us.....i was ready to walk hand in hand with him to meet Jesus. he gave me his word he would keep us safe. and that one afternoon started a series of trips that have been some of the best in my whole life. I initiated my new husband and several friends and the Ocoee always brings its A game. Sadly, Duck passed several years ago but he was the stuff of legends on the Ocoee.

Oh are you the one out there with the drone I see all the time? *Waves* I sit over by the red umbrella and photograph some of the companies that come down river. That last kayaker in the video is Shane Simenoux, a sponsored kayaker. Send him this video, I’m sure he would love it!! Got some pics of him myself!
