Smart, I did the same with my Taiwan wife. She got cancer USA doctor sai it will take $200,000 for lung surgery and get her into the hospital in 6 months. We went back to Taiwan, in two weeks got into surgery, 8 days stay in hospital, cost $3,500 US total. Decided to stay forever. 😅

I moved my Filipino wife and our son to the U.S. in August 2024 and by January 2026 we moved back and now call the Philippines home. I saw a comment about the American Dream not being for the lazy. I averaged 84 hours a week to barely earn $120,000 a year. But it wasn’t just the money. I got tired of looking over my shoulder to see who was staring at us because of politics. So while they might not say it out loud, I will. The American Dream no longer exists. It’s more like the American Drain. Struggling to live off of $10,000 per month is disgusting. We now live comfortably off of $4500 per month raising chickens and pigs in a wholesome environment where I feel welcomed and violence is rare.
