@originaldohnthornton03: You're out here building wealth... and every attorney, creditor, and government agency has you on their radar. But what happens when your assets turn into ghosts? No trail, no public record, nothing tied to your name -because everything sits inside a contract law spendthrift trust. You don't need to disappear... your wealth does (into purposes only; not a licensed tax, legal, or accounting professional) #fyp #lawsuit #assetprotection #taxsavings
The term “ghost trust” is not a standard legal term, but it is commonly used informally in estate planning to describe a trust that doesn’t actually work because it was never properly completed or funded.
There are two common meanings:
1. An unfunded trust – A trust document was created, but the person never transferred assets (such as a home, bank accounts, or investments) into the trust. In that case, the trust may not avoid probate or accomplish its intended purpose.
2. An unsigned or invalid trust – A trust document was drafted but never properly signed or executed according to state law. An unsigned trust generally has no legal effect.
