The land was once part of the historic Doheny Ranch before developer Paul Trousdale purchased hundreds of acres in the 1950s with a bold vision: create a community where every home was designed to embrace the landscape, the views, and modern California living. Unlike many luxury neighborhoods filled with traditional estates, Trousdale became a showcase for mid-century modern architecture. Strict design guidelines required low-profile homes, clean horizontal lines, and careful placement on each lot so the neighborhood would feel cohesive and so many homes could take advantage of the incredible views. Over the decades, Trousdale Estates became home to some of the world’s biggest names in entertainment, business, and politics, cementing its reputation as one of Beverly Hills’ most iconic enclaves.
