Field sobriety test are not pass or fail, it’s an evidence gathering technique and completely OPTIONAL. He immediately told them he had medical issues but was happy to take a breathalyzer for them to prove his innocence but the cops ego once again gets in the way

Speaking as a veteran, he doesn't get special treatment simply for being a veteran. he doesn't get to drive illegally and then get a free pass simply because he's a veteran. . I'm not saying that he was driving drunk. but the officer established at the very very beginning of the interaction that he was driving without a battle license or registration. The cop doesn't have to do anything extra or go out of his way to tell that the registration has expired because the sticker on the tag lets him know based on its color . now, if the man was behaving in a way that made the officer believe he might have been drinking, that's a whole other thing. but to insinuate that this man is somehow a victim and then push his veteran status as if it's some type of get out of jail free card is ridiculous.
